We’d like to introduce you to Van Bui, one of our beloved residents here at Batavia Nursing Care Center!



At 84, Van has lived a remarkable life filled with family, tradition, and rich cultural heritage. She was born in Saigon, Vietnam, where she married and raised four children, who all now reside in the Batavia area, along with her brother. Van treasures the flavors of her Vietnamese roots, especially fresh fruits and rice.

In Vietnamese culture, rice is far more than a staple food; it’s woven into daily life and symbolizes prosperity and connection to the land. Van fondly recalls the importance of fresh, wholesome foods in her diet, like fish and fruits, which are vital parts of Vietnamese cuisine.

We’re honored to have Van’s warmth and vibrant history as part of our community and are grateful to share a glimpse into her story.
