Back to School Carnival
August 17, 2022
Residents, staff and some of our friends from around town enjoyed a Back to School Carnival this past Saturday at Batavia Nursing Care Center! The day was filled with so much fun! There were games, prizes, food, drinks, alpacas, face painting and more.

The day began with our staff coming in early to set everything up. We made sure to pull out all the stops for every age to enjoy, along with many games so everyone had a chance to win a prize. We provided games such as cornhole, balloon pop, toss across, yard darts, ring toss, bean bag toss and even a bouncy house. The balloon pop seemed to be everyone's favorite game! We also couldn't forget the tasty carnival food. There were hotdogs, chips, punch, cotton candy and popcorn.
Kathy from our Activity Department contributed her face painting skills for anyone that wanted it. It ended up being a big hit with not only the kids but our staff and residents too! The alpacas soon made an entrance, giving everyone a chance to get to know more about them and pet them. We went out with a bang from our guest performer, Elvis, and finally, Kona Ice came around to give us a refreshing treat to cool everyone off.

All in all, our hearts at Batavia are so full after throwing an event like this for our community. Everyone had a great time and even asked us to make this an annual event. We couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. We're proud to serve the Batavia community and hope all the kids have a great start to the school year!
