A February Reflection

It's so important to us at Batavia Nursing Care Center to create opportunities for our residents to thrive while finding creative avenues that lead to joy. It is always our goal to help them make positive memories while staying at our facility, regardless of the length of their stay. Just because your loved one may be in a nursing home doesn't mean their lives stop there. They deserve great experiences and to continue living their life to the fullest. Hosting events and putting together activities and special moments helps contribute to our residents' overall well-being and quality of life.

February was full of love at our skilled nursing facility! As we reflect on the month, we are reminded to enjoy the little things, which include each other. We had opportunities to gather together for many activities this month. At the beginning of the month, we celebrated National Margarita Day with some pina coladas and a pizza party. This was a great way to let loose and be reminded of the warm weather! Next, we enjoyed cupcakes and dressed up for Fat Tuesday. Who doesn't love a good theme? Last but not least, everyone loved celebrating love at our Valentine's Day party. Residents, families, and staff members were all invited to join in this celebration.


We couldn't forget to focus on heart-healthy activities to help spread awareness for Heart Disease Month. With heart disease being the leading cause of death in the U.S., we made sure to use this opportunity as an educational moment to learn more about how to protect your heart.

Our facility renovations are still coming along great with all the new upgrades and colors. We can't wait to show off our new spaces! Next month, we are looking forward to our Easter Egg Hunt. We are also looking forward to more outings throughout the year with our new van that's now on the move.
